Ryan P. Comas, a dedicated and courageous U.S. Coast Guard Aviation Survival Technician 3rd Class, passed away on Tuesday, June 25, 2024, leaving a profound void in the hearts of his family, friends, and the Coast Guard community. 

Assigned to Air Station in Alaska, Ryan was known for his unwavering commitment to his duties and his exceptional skills as an aviation survival technician.

Born on October 14, 1995, in San Diego, California, Ryan developed a passion for the sea and a desire to serve his country from an early age. 

He joined the U.S. Coast Guard right after high school, driven by a deep sense of duty and a love for adventure. 

Throughout his career, Ryan demonstrated remarkable bravery and dedication, often putting himself in harm's way to save others.

As an aviation survival technician, Ryan was responsible for conducting search and rescue operations, providing emergency medical care, and ensuring the safety of his fellow service members. 

His colleagues admired him for his expertise, leadership, and unwavering determination. Ryan's commitment to his work earned him numerous commendations and the respect of everyone who had the privilege of working with him.

The news of Ryan's passing has left his loved ones in deep mourning. The Coast Guard Alaska community expressed their sorrow, stating, "This loss affects many members of our CG community in addition to AST3 Comas's family and friends.

Ryan is survived by his parents, Mark and Linda Comas, his sister, Emily, and his fiancée, Sarah Mitchell.
