On July 26, 2024, the Columbia Mall was the scene of a tragic targeted shooting that claimed the life of 17-year-old Angelo Little. The incident, which occurred in the food court area of the bustling shopping center, has left the community in shock and mourning. 


Angelo Little, a high school junior, was identified as the victim following the fatal shooting.

Angelo Little, described by family and friends as a bright and ambitious young man with a promising future, was known for his enthusiasm for sports and his involvement in school activities. 

He was a member of the high school basketball team and was admired for his dedication both on and off the court. 

Angelo had dreams of pursuing higher education and hoped to use his passion for sports to make a positive impact in his community.

The shooting took place around 2:00 PM, during a busy period at the mall. Witnesses reported hearing multiple gunshots before the suspect fled the scene. 

Despite the swift response of emergency services, Angelo was pronounced dead at the hospital. 

The two other individuals who were present at the scene were treated for minor injuries and are expected to recover.

Authorities are still searching for the suspect, who remains at large. The Columbia Police Department has launched a full-scale investigation into the shooting and is actively seeking leads. 

To aid in their efforts, a $5,000 reward has been offered for any information that could lead to the capture of the perpetrator. 

The police have urged anyone with knowledge about the incident or the suspect to come forward.

The community has come together to support Angelo’s family during this difficult time, holding vigils and memorials to honor his memory.
