Justin King, a dedicated firefighter with the City of Hoover Fire Department and the Center Point Fire District, tragically lost his life on June 30, 2024, in a motorcycle accident in Blount County.
Born on April 12, 1985, in Locust Fork, Alabama, Justin exemplified courage, service, and selflessness throughout his life and career.
From a young age, Justin had a deep-seated desire to serve his community. After graduating from Locust Fork High School, he pursued his passion for firefighting, joining the City of Hoover Fire Department and later becoming an integral part of the Center Point Fire District.
Justin's commitment to his role went beyond duty; he was known for his bravery in the face of danger and his unwavering dedication to protecting others.
Justin's career as a firefighter was marked by numerous acts of heroism and compassion. He often volunteered his time to educate the community about fire safety and emergency preparedness, leaving a lasting impact on those he encountered.
His colleagues remember him as a mentor and friend, always ready to lend a helping hand and lift spirits with his infectious humor.
Outside of his firefighting duties, Justin cherished spending time with his family and friends. He was a devoted husband to his wife, Sarah, and a loving father to their two children, Emily and Jacob.
Justin's love for his family was evident in everything he did, from coaching his son's Little League team to supporting his daughter's academic endeavors.
Justin King's sudden and tragic passing has left a profound void in the hearts of his family, friends, and the firefighting community.
He will be remembered for his bravery, integrity, and the positive impact he made on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
Justin is survived by his beloved wife, Sarah; his children, Emily and Jacob; his parents, Mark and Linda King; and his siblings, Michael and Amanda.
He will be dearly missed and forever cherished in the hearts of all who knew him.
A memorial service honoring Justin King's life and legacy will be held at Locust Fork Baptist Church on July 5, 2024, at 11:00 AM, followed by a procession to Locust Fork Cemetery for a private burial.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation, an organization dedicated to supporting families of firefighters who have made the ultimate sacrifice.
