Leon Curry Jr. Obituary, Death: Louisiana State Police Investigate Fatal Crash in Bogalusa

The community of Bogalusa, Louisiana, is mourning the loss of Leon Curry Jr., who tragically passed away in a fatal crash on July 7, 2024. Leon, known for his warm spirit and dedication to his family and friends, was only 34 years old.


Born on August 3, 1989, in Bogalusa, Leon was a beloved son, brother, and friend. He was known for his infectious smile, kind heart, and unwavering loyalty to those he loved. 

Leon attended Bogalusa High School, where he excelled both academically and athletically, particularly in football, earning the respect and admiration of his peers and coaches.

Leon’s passion for automobiles led him to pursue a career as an auto mechanic. He worked at a local garage, where he was known for his exceptional skills and dedication. 

His colleagues and customers appreciated his honesty, expertise, and friendly demeanor, making him a trusted figure in the community.

On the evening of July 7, Leon was involved in a tragic crash on Highway 21 in Bogalusa. Louisiana State Police are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident. 

Despite the prompt arrival of emergency services, Leon succumbed to his injuries at the scene. 

The news of his sudden and untimely passing has left his family, friends, and the entire community in deep sorrow.

Leon is survived by his loving parents, Leon Curry Sr. and Patricia Curry, his siblings, Marissa and Jordan, and a host of extended family and friends who will forever cherish his memory. His loss leaves a void that will be deeply felt by all who knew him.

A memorial service to honor Leon’s life will be held on July 14, 2024, at the First Baptist Church in Bogalusa. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Bogalusa High School Athletic Department, reflecting Leon’s love for sports and his alma mater.

Leon Curry Jr. will be remembered for his kind heart, dedication, and the joy he brought to those around him. 

His memory will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.
