Dr. Harry Lawrence Moynihan, a beloved physician from Richmond, Indiana, passed away unexpectedly on August 10, 2024, at the age of 68. His sudden death has left a profound impact on the Richmond community, where he was widely respected not only for his exemplary medical career but also for his unwavering dedication to his family and patients.

Born on April 4, 1956, in Indianapolis, Harry was drawn to medicine from an early age. He earned his medical degree from the University of Indiana School of Medicine and went on to complete his residency in Internal Medicine. 

Dr. Moynihan established his practice in Richmond over 30 years ago, where he built a reputation for his compassionate care and tireless commitment to his patients. 

His colleagues and patients alike admired his ability to blend professional expertise with a personal touch, ensuring that each individual received both exceptional medical attention and genuine empathy.

Harry’s dedication to his profession was matched by his devotion to his family. He is survived by his loving wife, Margaret; their six children, Emily, Thomas, David, Anna, Laura, and Michael; and his siblings, John and Mary. Harry’s role as a husband and father was central to his life. 

He was known for his supportive nature, his hands-on involvement in his children's lives, and his ability to balance his demanding career with his family responsibilities.

In the Richmond community, Harry was also actively involved in various local organizations and charity events. 

His contributions extended beyond his medical practice as he participated in health education programs and volunteered for numerous community initiatives.

A memorial service to honor Dr. Moynihan’s remarkable life and legacy will be held on August 15, 2024, at the Richmond Community Center. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Richmond Medical Foundation, reflecting Harry’s lifelong commitment to healthcare and community service. 

Dr. Moynihan’s legacy of dedication, compassion, and service will be cherished and remembered with deep respect and gratitude by all who knew him.
