Leland (Lee) Robert Skinner, age 76 passed away August 2, 2024, at his home in Richfield, following a valiant battle with a rare form of cancer caused by his exposure to Agent Orange during his service in Viet Nam.

Leland (Lee) Robert Skinner, age 76, passed away peacefully at his home in Richfield on August 2, 2024, after a courageous battle with a rare form of cancer. This illness, linked to his exposure to Agent Orange during his service in Vietnam, had been a long and challenging ordeal for Lee. His passing marks the end of a life dedicated to service, family, and community.


Born on March 15, 1948, in Richfield, Lee grew up with a strong sense of duty and commitment. 

After graduating from high school, he joined the U.S. Navy, where he served with distinction for seven years. 

His military career was marked by bravery and dedication, earning him numerous commendations and the respect of his peers. 

Lee’s service during the Vietnam War was particularly significant, and he remained deeply proud of his role in defending his country.

Following his military service, Lee returned to Richfield, where he began a new chapter of his life. 

He married his high school sweetheart, Carol, and together they raised a family with love and dedication. 

Lee was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, and his family was the center of his life. 

His children and grandchildren will remember him for his unwavering support, his wisdom, and his gentle guidance.

Beyond his family, Lee was known for his active involvement in local organizations and his commitment to veterans' causes. 

He volunteered with several veteran support groups, using his experiences and insights to help fellow veterans navigate their own challenges.
