Montreal, QC — I’ve been somewhat discreet and hesitant to speak openly since I received the heartbreaking news of my friend Pascal Vanasse’s passing on Tuesday morning. The shock and sadness hit me hard, and I’ve been grappling with a mix of memories, grief, and a profound sense of loss.

Pascal was more than just a friend; he was a genuine soul whose kindness and warmth touched everyone fortunate enough to know him.

I first met Pascal during our years at the Vieux Shack and La Boîte in Marius. Those days feel like yesterday—full of lively nights, laughter, and shared stories. From the moment I crossed paths with him, I could tell there was something special about Pascal. He had a way of making everyone feel welcome, valued, and truly seen.

His infectious smile and easygoing nature made him a regular fixture in our circle, and it didn’t take long for him to become an integral part of the 2P family. Pascal was the kind of person who brought light into any room, a rare quality that made him stand out.

There was truly no one kinder than Pascal. His genuine nature, combined with his unwavering loyalty and compassion, made him a friend you could always count on. Whether it was a word of encouragement, a helping hand, or just a listening ear, Pascal was there.

He had a way of making everyone feel comfortable, accepted, and loved. His presence was a blessing, and his absence leaves a void that cannot be filled. The memories we shared—those late-night conversations, the laughs, the shared struggles—are now treasured moments that I hold close to my heart.

Pascal’s passing is a profound loss, not only for those of us who knew him well but also for the community that he touched in countless ways.

His kindness, humility, and genuine spirit set him apart. It’s hard to imagine life without him, and the grief feels overwhelming at times.

Yet, amidst the sadness, I am grateful for having known such an incredible person. His legacy of compassion and friendship will live on in the stories we share and in the way he inspired us to be better, kinder people.

As we mourn his loss, I encourage everyone to remember Pascal’s warmth and kindness. His life was a testament to the power of genuine human connection.

Rest in peace, dear Pascal. You will be missed more than words can express. Thank you for everything—you made our lives brighter just by being in them.
