There were two vehicles involved in the collision that occurred in the 1200 block of East Lake Avenue shortly after 11 o'clock at night. One of the automobiles was driven by Marko Niketic, who was 17 years old, according to the police.
In addition, the driver and passenger of the second vehicle were sent to a hospital with life-threatening injuries, according to the Glenview police department. In one of the lighter-colored cars, the trunk was torn away from the front part of the vehicle, and the car was thus divided in half.
In addition to the hood being smashed all the way into the windshield, a dark-colored automobile sustained significant damage to both the front and rear ends of the vehicle. The person who called 911 from the scene of the accident says that he was being followed by a driver in a Mustang throughout the collision.
According to the witness, one of the drivers had passed him at a speed of at least ninety miles per hour prior to the collision taking place. It was reported by him that the driver had turned his lights on and off. "I seen him turn on his lights one more time and then a second later I seen lights in the air, like [one] of the cars got hit, one of these cars was pulling out and I think it just got T-boned," the individual who witnessed it stated.
At the scene were members of the family as well as friends. The identity of any other individuals have not been known. It has been reported by the Glenview Police Department that East Lake Avenue is currently closed in both directions from Wagner Road to Waukegan Road.
As part of their investigation, the Major Crash Assistance Team of the North Regional Major Crimes Task Force is providing assistance to the police. It has not yet been determined what the official reason of the crash was.
