Joseph A. Musacchia Obituary

Joseph A. Musacchia, 83, of Brewster, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Saturday, June 15, 2024, following a brief illness.


Joe was born in Brewster on June 20, 1940, to the late Bruno and Amelia "Millie" (DeAngelis) Musacchia.
 
He grew up in Brewster, where he formed deep roots in the community that he cherished throughout his life. 

On September 2, 1961, he married Emmy Ream, and together they built a loving family and shared many wonderful years.

A lifelong resident of Brewster, Joe was well-known as the owner and operator of Joseph Musacchia Tax Service for the past 44 years. His dedication to his profession and the trust he earned from his clients made him a respected figure in the community. 

Joe's commitment to his work was only matched by his devotion to his faith and family.Joe was an active member of Holy Family Parish St. 

Therese Catholic Church in Brewster, where he participated in various church activities and supported parish initiatives. His faith was an integral part of his life, guiding him in his personal and professional endeavors.

He was also a dedicated member of the Knights of Columbus, contributing his time and efforts to support the organization's charitable causes.

In addition to his beloved wife, Emmy, Joe is survived by his daughters, Elizabeth Musacchia, Jacqueline (Tim Barber) Musacchia, and Christine (Andrew) Lawton.

He was a proud grandfather to Ashley (James) Conley, Andrew (Katie) Lawton, Joseph (Karey) Lawton, and Matthew (fiancé Caitlyn) Lawton, and a great-grandfather to Oliver, Sullivan, Evelyn, and Porter. Joe also leaves behind his sister, Rita (Mary Burns) Musacchia.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Vicki Colucy, his brother Ronald Musacchia, and his son-in-law Stephen DiLucca.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, June 19, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Family Parish - St. Therese Campus in Brewster, with Father Michael Seifert officiating. 

Following the Mass, Joe will be laid to rest in St. Clement Cemetery in Navarre. Friends and family are invited to pay their respects on Tuesday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Spidell Funeral Home in Brewster.

Joe Musacchia will be remembered for his unwavering dedication to his family, his faith, and his community. His legacy of service and love will continue to inspire all who knew him.
