George W. Piersall, a revered figure in Robinson, Illinois, passed away peacefully at 10:43 a.m. on Saturday, July 27, 2024, at the Ridgeview Health and Rehab Center in Oblong, Illinois. He was 94 years old. Born on April 5, 1930, in Annapolis, Illinois, George was the son of Rev. Paul L. Piersall and Phoebe Ruth (Willard) Piersall. His life was a testament to dedication, service, and community spirit.

George's early years were shaped by his strong family values and the influence of his parents, who instilled in him a deep sense of duty and faith. 

After graduating from Annapolis High School, he went on to serve his country with distinction in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. 

His service was marked by bravery and commitment, reflecting his unwavering dedication to the ideals of freedom and justice.

Following his military service, George returned to his hometown and embarked on a successful career in agriculture. 

He became a respected figure in the local farming community, known for his expertise and integrity. 

George’s contributions extended beyond his professional life; he was an active member of the local church, serving as a deacon and participating in various community outreach programs.

George was a devoted husband to his late wife, Mary Ellen Piersall, and a loving father to their two children, David and Susan.

A memorial service to honor George’s life will be held on August 2, 2024, at the Robinson Community Church.
