Obituary, Death Ethan Velasquez and Julian Torres Killed in Las Vegas Hit-and-Run; Police Identify Suspect Luis Angel Equihua Murillo and Urge Public’s Help in Apprehension

The vibrant city of Las Vegas is reeling from the heartbreaking loss of two young men, Ethan Velasquez and Julian Torres, who tragically lost their lives in a hit-and-run incident on the night of July 10, 2024. 


The senseless act has left their families and friends devastated, while the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department has launched an urgent manhunt for the suspect, Luis Angel Equihua Murillo. 

Authorities are appealing to the public for assistance in locating Murillo and bringing justice to the victims’ families.

Ethan Velasquez, 24, was a cherished son, brother, and friend. Known for his infectious enthusiasm and love for life, Ethan graduated from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, with a degree in business administration. 

He worked as a marketing manager for a prominent local firm, where his creativity and dedication left a lasting impact. 

Ethan's friends remember him for his unwavering loyalty, his love for adventure, and his genuine kindness. 

He was passionate about music, often attending concerts and music festivals, where he shared unforgettable moments with those he loved.

Julian Torres, 23, was an aspiring artist whose talent and passion for visual arts were evident in his stunning works. A graduate of the Las Vegas Academy of the Arts, Julian's creativity knew no bounds. 

He was in the process of preparing for his first solo exhibition, a dream that will now remain unfulfilled. 

Julian's family recalls his gentle spirit, his love for nature, and his ability to find beauty in the simplest things. 

His friends admired his ability to express profound emotions through his art and his willingness to support and uplift others.

The tragic incident occurred as Ethan and Julian were walking home from a local café, where they had spent the evening sharing stories and dreams for the future. 

They were struck by a vehicle that fled the scene, leaving them with fatal injuries. 

Despite the efforts of first responders, both young men succumbed to their injuries shortly after the accident.

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department has identified Luis Angel Equihua Murillo as the suspect in this hit-and-run case. 

They are actively seeking information from the public to aid in his apprehension. 

Murillo's vehicle, a dark-colored sedan, was captured on surveillance footage, and police believe that public assistance is crucial in locating him.

As the community mourns the loss of Ethan and Julian, their families and friends are left to grapple with a future without their beloved sons and brothers.
