The tight-knit community of Mobile County, Alabama, is in mourning following a tragic car crash that claimed the lives of four promising young individuals. 


On the evening of July 10, 2024, a devastating accident on a rural stretch of road resulted in the untimely deaths of Jacoby R. Ruggs, Sade Mose, Jamariyah S. Thomas, and Jaglen P. Robinson.

Jacoby R. Ruggs, 22, was known for his infectious smile and dedication to his family. A graduate of Mobile County High School, Jacoby was pursuing a degree in engineering at the University of South Alabama. 

His passion for problem-solving and innovation was evident in his academic pursuits and his involvement in various community projects. 

Jacoby's family and friends remember him as a kind-hearted and ambitious young man with a bright future ahead.

Sade Mose, 20, was a beloved daughter, sister, and friend. A recent graduate of Murphy High School, Sade had a talent for art and design, which she planned to cultivate at the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) in Georgia. 

Her creative spirit and compassionate nature touched the lives of many, and her absence leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew her.

Jamariyah S. Thomas, 19, was a rising star on the basketball court, having recently graduated from Baker High School.

Jamariyah's athleticism and dedication earned her a scholarship to play college basketball at the University of Alabama. 

Her teammates and coaches admired her work ethic, leadership, and unwavering commitment to excellence.

Jaglen P. Robinson, 21, was a cherished son and brother who had recently started his career as an apprentice electrician. 

A graduate of Theodore High School, Jaglen's passion for working with his hands and his determination to build a successful future were evident in everything he did. 

His family recalls his infectious laughter and the joy he brought into their lives.

The investigation into the crash revealed that none of the passengers were wearing seatbelts at the time of the accident, leading to their ejection from the vehicle when it overturned. 

Authorities are using this tragic incident to remind the public of the importance of seatbelt safety.
