Rhys Taylor, aged 64, passed away peacefully on June 21, 2024, surrounded by his family at his home in Atlanta, Georgia.
He was born on September 8, 1959, in Savannah, Georgia, to the late James and Margaret Taylor. Rhys was the eldest of three children and is survived by his siblings, Emily and Thomas Taylor.
Rhys graduated from the University of Georgia with a degree in Business Administration in 1981.
He spent the majority of his career working in finance, where he made a significant impact on his colleagues and clients alike.
Rhys was known for his sharp wit, unwavering integrity, and a genuine passion for helping others.
Outside of his professional life, Rhys was an avid sports enthusiast. He loved golfing with friends and cheering on his beloved Georgia Bulldogs football team.
He also had a deep appreciation for nature and enjoyed spending time at his cabin in the North Georgia mountains.
Rhys will be remembered for his kindness, his infectious smile, and his ability to make everyone around him feel valued.
He leaves behind a legacy of love, generosity, and dedication to his family and community.
Visitation will be held on June 26, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Atlanta Funeral Home. A funeral service will take place the following day, June 27, 2024, at 11:00 AM, also at the Atlanta Funeral Home. Rhys will be laid to rest at the Savannah Memorial Gardens in a private ceremony for family and close friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society, a cause that was close to Rhys's heart.
Rhys Taylor is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Sarah, and their two children, Michael and Lauren.
He will be dearly missed by his extended family, friends, and all who had the pressure of knowing him.
