The community of Phoenix, AZ, is deeply saddened by the tragic death of Grace Rohloff, who passed away following an accident at Half Dome in Yosemite National Park on July 17, 2024. 

Grace, aged 29, was known for her adventurous spirit, compassionate heart, and unwavering determination, qualities that touched the lives of everyone she met.

Born on September 12, 1994, in Phoenix, Grace was a beacon of light and positivity. 

She attended Arizona State University, where she earned a degree in Environmental Science, reflecting her deep love and respect for nature. 

Grace was an avid hiker and outdoor enthusiast who found solace and joy in exploring the natural world. 

Her adventurous nature took her to many beautiful and remote places, with Yosemite's Half Dome being one of her favorite destinations.

Grace worked as an environmental consultant, dedicating her career to protecting and preserving the environment. 

Her colleagues admired her dedication, expertise, and the passion she brought to her work. Outside of her professional life, Grace was a beloved daughter, sister, and friend. 

Her family recalls her as a nurturing and loving person, always ready to lend a helping hand or share a word of encouragement.

The tragic accident at Half Dome has left Grace's family and friends in profound grief. 

She had embarked on a hiking trip to Yosemite, eager to conquer the iconic peak once more. 

Unfortunately, during her ascent, a sudden mishap led to her fatal fall. 

The National Park Service responded swiftly, but despite their efforts, Grace succumbed to her injuries.

Grace is survived by her parents, Robert and Linda Rohloff, her younger brother, David, and a wide circle of friends who cherished her deeply. 

Her family expressed their gratitude for the outpouring of support and condolences during this heartbreaking time. 

"Grace was our rock and inspiration. Her love for life and the environment was contagious. 

We are devastated by her loss but grateful for the time we had with her," her parents said in a statement.

A memorial service to celebrate Grace's life will be held on July 24, 2024, at the Desert Botanical Garden in Phoenix, a place she loved dearly. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to environmental conservation organizations, in honor of Grace’s commitment to protecting the planet.

Grace Rohloff's legacy of love for nature, kindness, and adventure will forever be remembered. 

She leaves behind a void that can never be filled but also a profound inspiration to live life to the fullest, cherish our natural world, and care for one another. Rest in peace, Grace. Your spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew you.
